Series 12, Episode 2: Action Sports, Mindset, & Fear with Natalie Allport

In this episode of Your Potential for Everything, host Alex brings on Natalie Allport, a former former Canadian national team snowboarder and lifelong entrepreneur. Natalie talks with Alex about how Action Sports transition athletes well into entrepreneurship and how Mindset and Fear played into her snowboarding career. Natalie started slopestyle snowboarding at the relatively ripe old age of 13 years old when most kids start to feel fear creep into their lives. Her foray into action sports was not uncommon considering she grew up in Canada with a family that loved to ski. She made the Canadian Junior National Slopestyle Snowboard team and her identity was wrapped up in the sport. Fear did play a factor in her eventual retirement, but she knew she wanted to do more than snowboard and had a constantly curious mind. While she always had an entrepreneurial flare, she was not always able to cultivate it during her snowboarding career unless she had time off due to injury. She understood the importance of visualization and mindset in her sport and she carried over skills like adaptability and relationship building from sports to the business world.
