09 Listening, trust and MEL with Anne Garbutt

Today I am speaking with Anne Garbutt. Anne is an independent senior monitoring and evaluation consultant and an Associate of INTRAC.  She has worked in international Development for 37 years, starting when she volunteered with VSO to lead a Midwifery training programme in Nepal for the W.H.O. She has led large multi-country monitoring and evaluation exercises for government donors, but also works with many small civil society organisations.  She also develops and delivers training, coaching and mentoring in MEL and delivers INTRAC’s popular Advanced Monitoring and Evaluation training course. In this wisdom filled conversation, Anne shares generous insights from her decades of experience of working as a consultant. We talk about trust, listening and how to build relationships with our clients. We learn how this sometimes means we need to hold back our opinion, and how we can steer clients down a route that will ultimately work for them and get them the best result. Please bear with us on the sound on the last 20 minutes or so - Anne sounds perfect. I sound a bit like a Dalek! I had some mic issues - but the wisdom is wonderful and clear from Anne!  Find out more about Anne and her work belowLinkedin INTRAC website ________________________________________________________________________________________More resources are available here:https://www.womensconsultingworkshop.com/learning________________________________________________________________________________________The Women's Consulting Workshop is our free private group for women who are working in consulting.
