29. “Mental Health-Asking for help” with Sam Webb
Who Can Relate? - Ein Podcast von Justin Davis

Mental health and suicide conversations are some of the most difficult ones to have. I’ve been very careful in thinking about how to have an episode on them & who to have on as a guest. Sam Webb has been an advocate for both Mental Health and Suicide Prevention ever since he lost his best friend to suicide in 2018. He co-founded a foundation called “LIVIN” and has been very outspoken on several platforms to help bring awareness to these tough conversations. They are necessary, essential & can possibly save lives. As you’ll hear in our episode, it’s no longer acceptable to take an “I’m fine” response from a friend or family member, when asking how they’re doing. We need to dive deeper and provide help in any kind of way. This episode is very touching, powerful & hopefully helpful to those who need to hear it. Thank you for taking the time to listen and PLEASE share this with anyone who may be in need.Episode Time Stamps:2:35 Sam’s Background4:15 The story of how everything started10:39 How “LIVIN” was born14:45 Smiling Depression: Masking Emotions21:16 Breaking the burden of Masculinity28:49 It ain’t weak to speak30:15 Every 60 seconds someone commits suicide32:34 Asking for help36:55 Love is stronger than Pride42:50 Don’t say Yes to them, if it means saying No to you48:11 Rapid Fire Questions57:21 Bonus Content: Sam’s TEDx TalkIf you're listening to this episode on Apple Podcast, let me know your thoughts in a review below!
