Is laundry liquid an approriate gift on Mothers Day?

Porirua's Pak N Save has come under fire for what's been called a "misogynistic" social media giveaway for Mother's Day. The store said it was "feeling generous" and had three "pamper packs" made up of laundry products, air fresheners and a box of chocolates for someone who deserves it. After plenty of debate in the comment sections - the store clarified there was no "hidden agenda or meaning". Foodstuffs has apologised for the post, saying it missed the mark.
