Apri 1, 2022. Gospel John 11:1-45. Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent.

"The death of Lazarus did not lead to death", says St. Augustine, "but rather to the miracle which had to be accomplished to lead men to belief in Christ Jesus and avoidance of everlasting death.  Our Lord gives here an indirect proof of His divinity, against those who deny that the Son is also God Himself" (Matins). This miracle announces the resurrection of Jesus.   Introit Psalm 18:15 [15]And the words of my mouth shall be such as may please: and the meditation of my heart always in thy sight. O Lord, my helper, and my redeemer. Et erunt ut complaceant eloquia oris mei, et meditatio cordis mei in conspectu tuo semper. Domine, adjutor meus, et redemptor meus.
