Earlier this month, McDonald received a positive diagnosis of Covid-19, after waiting sixteen days for her test results. She spoke openly and honestly about her experience with the illness and the immediate sense of connection she felt with everyone who has also contracted the virus. In this conversation, the party leader reveals what it’s like finally getting back to work, her hopes for post pandemic Ireland and what the future holds for Sinn Féin, on the sidelines of the historical agreement between Fine Gael and Fine Fáil.
