Dr. Nick Molinaro: The Keys to Increasing Performance

The Truth Prescription - Ein Podcast von Dr Seku Gathers

Good People, Today I had the pleasure of talking with Dr. Nick Molinaro. He’s worked as a psychologist for 30+ years, with a specialty in sports psychology and executive assessment and performance. He’s worked with athletes from the NFL, NBA, and he’s most known for his work with the PGA. We had a great conversation all about finding ways to unlock your true potential, mental skills training, and the erroneous beliefs around what role confidence plays in performance. Essentially, Dr. Nick says that focusing on boosting someone’s confidence is an ineffective way to actually increase performance. Focusing on grit and self-advocacy are much more effective. We also talked quite a bit about his own personal experiences around performance and what led him to realize a method that allowed him to live up to his potential. He breaks down the basic processes that influence most of what we do, what we believe, what we feel, and how to use that understanding to set effective goals and develop grit. We cover a lot in this short and sweet conversation. So sit back, relax, and take a listen. I’ll see you soon. Some Questions I Ask: What locks up people’s potential? (4:44)What benefits come with mental skills training?
