I consider myself a productive person. I have hard systems, apps, and even color-coding that I use to make sure that I complete projects and tasks in a timely fashion and still have time for myself.  However, it’s a topic that I love digging into. Who doesn’t want to find new ways to streamline their productivity? We Creative Warriors often have a lot of projects we are juggling and in an industry that is becoming more tech-reliant, it is important to know when things are helping, and when they are slowing us down. You’ve heard me talk about the soul’s gatekeepers which keeps us from doing the things that are the most personal to us. Often the projects that matter the most are the things we find ourselves putting off. How do we dig into those things that we fear? How do we stay on task with projects that don’t have a hard deadline? It can be daunting to begin a project near to your heart, and even more daunting to finish it. To dive deeper into finding your productivity, I’ve brought on productivity master, Charlie Gilkey. He is the Founder of Productive Flourishing, author of the books Start Finishing and The Small Business Lifecycle, and host of the Productive Flourishing podcast. Prior to starting Productive Flourishing, Charlie was a Joint Force Military Logistics Coordinator while simultaneously pursuing a PhD in Philosophy.  To learn how to start finishing your big idea, download this episode now.  THE WARRIOR OF COURAGE “We have to be functionally delusional to be the type of creative souls that we most want to be in the world.” -Charlie Gilkey Highlights - Often the things that matter most of us, are the things we procrastinate most.  Find your Success Pack: a group of people who are the “yay-sayers”, the guides, and support that help you get clarity and the beneficiaries of and for your work.  Track where you spend your time.  The 5-Project Rule: work on no more than 5 active projects per time perspective. Grieving, recovering from injury, heartbreak, fitness all count as personal projects. Deadlines vs. Capacity: at a certain point it doesn’t matter what the deadline is if you don’t have the capacity to schedule the focus blocks you need.  Understand the “no-win” solutions and get them out of your mind.
