Kelly and Angie McCreight are the owners of The School of Rock Nashville and The School of Rock Franklin. Their son Sean plays guitar and their daughter Emily plays bass. Both are a product of the unique programs School of Rock has to offer. They not only own the franchise, but also play music! Angie sings and Kelly plays guitar.
The School of Rock strongly believes that the best way to learn music is to play music, taking students from the lesson room to the stage, developing both their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skills. Program staples include the Performance Program, where students will learn harmonies and musicianship during weekly group sessions and performances in an authentic rock show environment during live performances at local venues; and Rock 101, which teaches students key instruments including guitar, bass, drums, keyboard & vocals, while playing actual rock music and weekly sessions that help them understand the dynamics of playing in a group.
Kelly and Angie sum it all up with this statement: “We don’t teach music to play shows, we play shows to teach music.”
