In Matthew 2:19-23, after King Herod's death, an angel appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, instructing him to return to Israel with Mary and Jesus. However, learning that Archelaus reigns in Judea, Joseph fears for Jesus' safety and is divinely warned in a dream to go to Galilee, settling in Nazareth.
