Day 293 | People of Judah worship the Queen of Heaven | 1 Timothy 5: Widows, Elders, & Slaves

The One Year Bible Podcast 2025 - Ein Podcast von Michael Wood, M.Ed.,M.S.

Day 293 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. After having explicitly been told by God through Jeremiah to stay in Judah, a group, including Jeremiah and Baruch, is forcibly taken to Egypt by some rebellious folks. Once in Egypt, Jeremiah warns that Babylon will conquer Egypt and that they'll face the same woes they ran from. Chapter 45 focuses on a personal word from God to Baruch, basically telling him not to seek great things for himself because tough times are coming. In 1 Timothy 5-6:2, Paul provides Timothy with guidelines on how to relate to various church members. He gives advice on treating older men and women respectfully, supporting widows who genuinely need help, and ensuring elders who do their jobs well are valued. He then warns against younger widows becoming idle and gossipy. Moving on to 6:1-2, Paul tells slaves (or servants) to respect their masters, especially if they're believers.
