S9 Ep3: From Construction Lawyer to Designer of Luxury Slippers: Anna Elshafei

Now are you ready to hold on tight, put on your comfies andget ready to be taken all around the world? It was all due to a chance conversation with her Frenchteacher at school that Anna Elshafei decided to study Chinese. Little did Annaknow this decision wouldn’t just take her to China but all around over theglove, she’d marry an Egyptian and she would forever have a sense of adventure.   Years later while working as a construction lawyer Annacouldn’t find any slippers she wanted to wear when she was at home entertainingfriends and she didn’t want to wear heels (I mean who does?). So, using thesame sense of adventure and bravery Anna created her own. Her designs are nowsold all over and she’s excited to know where this new adventure will take hernext.  In this conversation we talk about what it’s really like tostart your own business when you have absolutely no idea what to do. Anna alsogives some really helpful and practical advice about how to begin a nextchapter if you’re stuck in a job you don’t like, but can’t afford to leave.  Anna is open, honest and incredibly supportive.
