Welcome back to the New Mom Boss Podcast! My guest today is on a mission to make other women more aware of perinatal mental illnesses like postpartum anxiety and OCD. Ligaya Lange gave birth to her daughter during COVID following a traumatic 54 hr/C-section birth. A few weeks later, she realized she was suffering from very bad anxiety that was preventing her from bonding with her baby. And so began a long and arduous journey to find the right treatment and get well for her family.  In our conversation, we talk about the differences between standard anxiety and postpartum anxiety, how it can prevent proper bonding with baby, the signs and symptoms women can be on the lookout for, and what their first steps should be when seeking treatment. Some big takeaways are:Women with a history of mental illness are more prone to prenatal and perinatal mental disorders.Your primary doctor cannot help you as well as a perinatal psychiatrist can.Even if you’ve never suffered from a mental illness as a mom, you can help others by being educated and aware. Take a listen and learn more by reading the show notes! https://www.newmomboss.com/blog/137 Join the waitlist for the Prepping For Postpartum Workshop!https://www.newmomboss.com/pfp-waitlist Work with me 1:1! https://www.newmomboss.com/guidance Guest Resources: Ligaya’s Website: www.ligayameanshappiness.com Ligaya’s Instagram: www.instagram.com/ligayameanshappinessLigaya’s Facebook: www.facebook.com/Ligayameanshappiness/therhoodmentor Ligaya’s Podcast: Ligaya Means HappinessFollow me on social media!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/newmomboss/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/newmombossLooking for pregnancy support?Join the waitlist for the Prepping For Postpartum Workshop!www.newmomboss.com/pfp-waitlistWork with me 1:1!www.newmomboss.com/guidance Follow me on social media!Instagram: www.instagram.com/newmomboss/ Facebook: www.facebook.com/newmomboss
