Episode 15: Creating a culture of being well and working well - with Dr. Marcia Goddard

Dr. Marcia Goddard is unique in combining a background in academia with practical business behaviour. She’s an experienced neuroscientist who left an assistant professor position in academia to focus on building bridges between science and business. Her specific expertise is work floor behaviour: how do you build a culture that allows people to thrive? I’m delighted to have her insights and experience here to share with you all - she’s who I wished for in all the businesses I worked in and the role I’d LOVE to have if I went back to employment! We explored so many areas of workplace wellness including: - Why businesses are now understanding how well-being and performance go hand in hand (thanks to covid) - Why it’s crucial to get mental health on the business agenda - What HR looks like now in business compared to 5-10 years ago - Why there’s no single solution for well-being (the good news is that there are many solutions - it’ll take time and effort to work out which is best for you) - Why imposing full time office working post covid isn’t the best way forward – and how businesses can approach this differently - Where to start for businesses - practical tips and ideas for businesses to start creating a wellness movement inside the organisation - Where to start for employees  choose contentment over happiness and see how your life changes.
