Henlein.  He was born on July 7th, 1907, in Butler Missouri. His family moved to Kansas City later that year. He was a voracious reader and using the library cards of his siblings he read all the science fiction books in the Kansas City Public Library. He was in the Navy for a short period of time before he was medically discharged. He gave politics a shot but that didn’t go well so in 1938 he was unemployed and broke. A year later he wrote his first short story, “Life Line” which he sold to Astounding Science Fiction magazine for 70 dollars, equivalent to about $1,500 today. He would go on to write 32 novels and 59 short stories during his incredible career. From the pages of the October 1957 issue of Saturn magazine, let’s turn to page 116 for The Elephant Circuit by Robert A.
