Brent English - Robust tools

Today’s interview is with a good friend of mine Brent English. Brent is the founder and owner of Robust tools in Barneveld Wisconsin.  Robust Tools is known for the American Beauty lathe, this lathe has a 25-inch swing, over stainless steel ways, The short bed version is 48 inches long, built of 3/8” structural steel, the head & Tailstock are precision cnc machined quality cast iron. It's about as a solid foundation as they come. The power comes a 2 hp or my favorite option a 3 horsepower motor, these aren’t little ponies boys & girls, these are Clydesdales. The optional patented tilt away tailstock is an industry game-changer. You put all these things together and you can understand where it gets her name “American Beauty” In this interview Brent shares with us his life before Robust, why he likes to build things, how he fell head over heels into woodturning and how the seed was planted to build his first lathe.
