Male Feminism Redefined with Artist Andre Veloux

The Iridescent Podcast - Ein Podcast von Iridescent

Meet British artist Andre Veloux, who resides in Princeton, NJ with his wife and daughter. His art explores modern feminism and gender roles by standing up for women and their empowerment while also standing against male entitlement which causes discrimination, oppression and violence against women.  Innovative and masterful, Andre’s work is created entirely from Legos (yep, you read that right!) and is showcased in private collections worldwide, has been installed in public spaces, and featured in many group shows. He has shown at galleries across the U.S. including Scope Art Miami, and recently held his first live art event at Princeton University centered on the theme of consent. He is represented by the Krause Gallery, New York City, and his third show at the gallery opened in October 2019.  His work has been featured on Insider Art, Vice, Quiet Lunch, Blended NYC, Curated by Girls, The Tax Collection, WideWalls, Little Things TV and many others.  We’ll hear more about Andre’s remarkable journey as an artist, husband, father, and advocate, why gender equality is an urgent issue for men as well as women, and how he’s redefining male feminism through art.  You can follow Andre on instagram @andreveloux and learn more about his art at veloux.com.
