Builder Alan Brett didn’t take the theft of his tools lying down. When neither the police nor his insurers were interested, he decided to do something about it. Listen to his fascinating story as he seeks to develop a national tool database. The insurance industry really should take note!   Quote of the Episode “I talked to a lot of police at the time about my tool theft and how angry I was. And they were saying to me that they have no information to go on. They can stop people they know are dodgy, but they can't prove they're stolen tools. They have warehouses full of stolen tools that they don't know who owns them and can’t reunite them with their owners. And each police force works differently. So we got 43 police forces that all work individually.”   About The Guest Alan Brett has owned and run family home builders, Absolute Building Structures, for many years. When tools worth £8000 were stolen from his van he found it was almost impossible for the police to track his tools or apprehend the suspects, and his insurers refused the claim. He set off to find a solution and Tool Watch App Ltd was formed.   Connect with guest – Alan Brett | LinkedIn Tool Watch App | Safeguarding Your Livelihood | Register Now   About the Host Sarah Myerscough is the Sales and Marketing Director of Boston Tullis Group.
