Hey everyone, things on the pod have be different lately and I have not been posting my ~usual~ content or as much as I used to. My problems and episode topics are completely irrelevant to what is going on in the world right now. I have taken this time to educate, learn, listen, sign, donate and support others around me. I think it is extremely important to allow ourselves to practice self care to keep our mental state in check so we are able to keep supporting one another and keep our foot on the gas with this movement. This week I wanted to try something completely different and lead a guided body scan meditation. This is my first time doing this so it is completely trial and error but with the goal of relaxation and to destress. This is short so please take time after to look into these resources, read, research, listen, and educate yourself. Lastly, please support black hosted podcasts, media, authors, business owners, activists, etc. Thank you to my dear friend Carly for inspiring me with this <3 Stay SAFE ! SO MUCH LOVE X *Body Scan - The body scan is one of the most effective ways to begin a mindfulness meditation practice. The purpose is to tune in to your body—to reconnect to your physical self—and notice any sensations you’re feeling without judgement. via helpguide.org RESOURCES- For education, petitions, where to donate, information for protestors, etc https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/ Lesson plan on being an ally (from blacklivesmatter.carrd.co) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1H-Vxs6jEUByXylMS2BjGH1kQ7mEuZnHpPSs1Bpaqmw0/mobilebasic#id.2bwn4teflt1v News, Resources, Videos and more https://blacklivesmatter.com/news/ Books, Articles, PDFS, Podcasts, Movies, Protest Safety, Authors, & more spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bUJrgX8vspyy7YttiEC2vD0DawrpPYiZs94V0ov7qZQ/htmlview Chnge Sustainable Fashion *Currently 100% of their profits donated to the black lives matter movement* https://chnge.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwoPL2BRDxARIsAEMm9y8m3wPukWgkk0InLMexR5ve6IFHlzQDcC4mxvEinsZKo4UI-ahZ91kaAum-EALw_wcB Books for Black Communities https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSedAacBXPNyVYm5cGuVjlu0OZ8qmL8pvcUAyXl-6cjjyY7p6w/viewform Podcast Episodes (that I have listened to so far and recommend) Pod Save The People: -Keep The Fight -Justice for Ahmaud Arbery Its Been a Minute by NPR: -Not Just Another Protest Code Switch by NPR: -A Decade of Watching Black People Die -What Does ‘Hood Feminism’ Mean for a Pandemic? -Why the Coronavirus is Hitting Black Communities Hardest Instagram Accounts I have been following & keeping up to date with: @GloGraphics @ShitYouShouldCareAbout @ColorOfChange @ShaunKing @Rachel.Cargle @Jenerous @IndyaMoore @CampaignZero
