The Big Run - Ein Podcast von formacircle
Welcome back to the monthly journal supported by SOAR running This month we open our pages to explore the theme of Healing. From intimate journal entries, calls to adventure, creating visibility and connecting deeper to your body. Join us as we move through these different stories. Actor Joanna Horton kicks us off by reading 'Scaffolding" by Seamus Heaney. Next up we have 'Dear Foot racing' - a call and response - from author to the reader - brought to life by actor Remmie Milner from the Journal entries of 2016 European Mountain Champion Emmie Collinge. Keiran Alger from The Run Testers drops in to fill us in on his latest epic adventure - Run The Blue. I join former guests Paula Bedford of Camino Ultra and Ryan Jensen, Feldenkrais practitioner to observe and participate in a session to explore the practice and learn what it means to listen to your body. And all-round hero Tasha Thompson, founder of Black Girls Do Run, joined me in a freezing Hyde Park to talk about resetting the dial on who can be a runner, being a hero to her kids and encouraging change. Enjoy the journal and thanks for joining me for The Big Run Danny ****** AND REMEMBER this episode is kindly supported by SOAR running and our performance of the month competition closes on the 11th of April This spring SOAR are giving you – and a running partner - the chance to win a Marathon System each. That's a pair of their marathon shorts with integrated storage for up to 6 in-race gels, plus an ultralight weight Race Vets 4.0. For your chance to win they want to hear about a performance by a training partner, or friend of yours, which has inspired you recently. It’s not just about smashing a PB or breaking the tape though. Performance can – and does – mean different things to different folk. So we want to hear about a performance that has inspired you, stood out to you, or overcome adversity. It doesn’t need to be race-related either, it can be training progress, a huge personal feat, returning from injury or embracing a new running challenge. We just want to hear why it’s inspired you, and is a worthy winner, in no more than 250 words! To submit your nominee – and be in with a chance to win – simply email your tale to [email protected] with ‘Performance Of The Month’ in the subject line. Nominations must be in by Monday 11th April.
