How Do I Share About Jesus?

Today, we are going to tackle a topic that, honestly, I feared for most of my teenage years. Maybe fear isn’t the right word, but I had a lot of questions on it. It was the term disciple. I would hear Matt. 4:19 said in church “And He said unto them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” And we would talk about the great commission in Matt 26:19-20  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”But internally, I would be like “what does that even mean for me? Does that mean I just invite my friends to church? Do it mean I have to be this weird, awkward Christian who only would talk about Jesus?” I pictured this nerd in the corner with glasses (ironically, I do wear glasses!). And deep down, I was afraid of what people would think of me. I’ve said it many times before on the podcast, but I am a recovering people pleaser. I just wanted to fit in with the popular kids. I honestly thought some of the kids in my youth group who were “on fire for God” were a little weird and a little strange. And the idea of being a disciple for Christ, spread the gospel and the good news was a huge question mark for me even into my early adult years. What does it mean to spread the good news? Maybe you want to share Jesus with more people but you don’t know how? Because you also don’t want to be accused of “shoving it down their throats” either, right? “Stop pushing your religion on me.” I want to share Jesus. I want to spread the good news. It has done so much for me! But.
