A southern Tasmanian beef cattle farmer says a trial of not using sprays and fertilisers and not making hay on farm is proving successful, and Marshall Roberts says the different method of farming he's using at the Valleyfield property in Glen Huon is saving him almost $30,000 a year on inputs.
