127: Struggling VA to Superstar VA! How Lara built her VA biz to 6 figures
My guest today is Lara, founder of Superstar PAs, and them team that support me in running my business! Lara left home at the age of 16 following a turbulent childhood and fell into a career in Financial Services where she stayed until she set up her own Worldwide Virtual Assistant business in 2015, called Superstar PAs. During her time in the corporate space, she undertook a number of professional qualifications in order to climb the career ladder, latterly working for one of the world’s largest banks. Then 7 years ago, she left all she knew in that world, with no job to go to and had no idea how she would pay the bills but felt strongly about leaving after a bad cultural experience.Having done a few Personal Assistant (PA) roles historically she thought she would freelance as a Virtual Assistant (VA) until she figured out her long-term plan, however six months later she found herself with a full time Virtual PA business and was loving it so decided to make it her focus.A few years into the business, whilst five months pregnant with her now 5-year-old daughter, she discovered her husband was having an affair and he left before the baby was born.
