Right now we seem to live in a world where facts don't matter. Joe Biden was on a rant last August and made a statement I don't think he intended, but was actually true. What he said was "We choose truth over facts". That really sums up what's going on in this country right now. In this episode we'll consider the dangers of the disconnect between truth and facts. All human beings have a natural tendency to cling to what they consider to be their own truth. Often, these truths are not grounded in actual fact. If you try to demonstrate to a person why their truth isn't based in fact, they'll often get angry with you, and they don't want to listen. It's as if you're trying to invalidate them as a person. The response is emotional, not logical. Taking great care to ensure that your truths are grounded in provable facts is key to success in your life. This is a skillset that few people seem to have. Developing this skillset will launch you ahead of your competition and help you avoid many mistakes.
