Imagine being thrown out of your home at the age of fourteen. That would be traumatizing, right? Well, Mario Bekes’ parents threw him out of their home when he was 14. Luckily though, his grandfather took him in and sent him for higher learning. He ended up joining the army, and when war broke out in 1991, he found himself fighting for Croatia’s independence. Mario was later transferred to the foreign affairs department, and that’s how he found himself in Australia. He fell in love in Australia, had a kid, and decided to settle there to date. Mario’s journey to becoming who he is today has been fuelled by painful life lessons and obstacles he took as steppingstones. Who is Mario Bekes? Mario is an ambassador and activist for humanity.
