Joining us on the show today is Jeremy Ryan Slate.  Jeremy is the owner of a PR firm known as Command your Brand. He’s also the host of the Create Your Own Life Podcast, a top 100 ranked podcast on iTunes where he interviews individuals who are living an extraordinary life.   How he started his top-ranking podcast With so many individuals trying to make a breakthrough in the podcasting industry, Jeremy’s piece of advice for anyone who wants to start a podcast, or has recently started one, is that it takes consistent grinding and hustle to make it to the top’   Everyone wants to hit the top-shelf Joe Rogan success level with their podcast - conducting top interviews, millions of global listenership and a loyal fan base where they can sell their products or sell ads to; But the truth is, it’s probably going to take years of consistent show production before you’re anywhere near the top 100 list. A discouraging fact that usually makes a lot of people quit after podcasting for a short while .  Jeremy started his podcast 5 years ago, and it’s taken him over 800 interviews before he can finally figure out the kind of message he wants to consistently produce for his audience.    He interviewed normal individuals who were living life on their own terms, making the rules for how they live and work.  After a while, Jeremy then changed his guest niche to top world performers, before later on making a shift into interviewing extraordinary individuals.    Despite having taken such a long time to know the message and theme for his show, Jeremy says it’s been 100%  worth it; because he can now direct all his energy and focus into promoting the ‘Extraordinary life’ message to his audience.    Jeremy’s view on what it takes to be extraordinary After interviewing a tone of extraordinary people, Jeremy has noticed one common pattern of experience in their past life, Adversity.  Extraordinary people are able to rise from an average level mindset by welcoming challenges and setbacks in life as an opportunity to learn and grow in life.    At 33, Jeremy sees his millennial generation to be entitled people who miss out on opportunities in life because they don’t want to take chances unless it’s something they’re ‘passionate about’ which for him, is a really poor way of looking at life.    Successful people usually find something that they’re good at, practise to get better at it, and then the passion automatically kicks in because not only are they better at it, but the entire process becomes effortless, and making money through it is like second nature to them.    How Jeremy made a shift into the PR and entrepreneurial lifestyle.    Jeremy had initially started off helping individuals in launching and growing their podcasts.  A hustle that he pushed to the side because of the intense level of commitment that was needed, and yet the pay never reflected the amount of work he put in the process; which basically involved; setting a website up, setting the Podcast RSS Feed, reaching out and connecting the host with podcast guests, all for just $1500.    That’s when Jeremy made his shift and started his PR company, Command Your Brand.  Through the company, Jeremy helps top entrepreneurs get on podcast interviews to share their story message (which involves tying their personal story, and business message together), to a target audience that they’ve already identified and selected.  Jeremy then helps his clients be effective with the podcast interviews they’ve been on, by pushing them to go the extra mile and promoting the interviews to their own personal audience, and also share it with potential podcasts they’d love to get on.    Jeremy’s Superpower Jeremy’s superpower as an entrepreneur lies in his ability to stay consistent and focused on what he’s chasing after.  If you show up every day, that linear progression line (of whatever you’re practicing)will keep going up, and after a couple of years, you’ll look back and be proud of the far you’ve come.    Timestamps 00:26 About Jeremy and his accomplishments 01:32 Pushing through the pandemic 03:20 different pr services on his site 04:32 How he came up with his podcast.  07:14 About his book.  12:31 Command your brand PR program.  16:27 Climbing through the ranks to be a top podcast 24:57 what he loves about entrepreneurship.    Quotes You need to know what your differentiating factor is, what makes you unique - that’s what will make other people choose your brand over others.    It took me 800 interviews before I could figure out the kind of message I wanted to relay on my show. But it’s been worth it since I’ve now gained clarity of the people I'm servicing and how to help them succeed.    Extraordinary people view adversity as an opportunity to grow. They see it as a way to break limits and be better than the average person.  Connect with Jeremy  Website - https://www.jeremyryanslate.com Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/Jeremyryanslate/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/jeremyryanslate Podcast - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id1059619918
