There was a time when consumers went to different places for different needs. Companies aimed to do one thing and do it well. But in the past decade, that’s changed. Apple, the computer maker, is now a cell phone provider and bank as well. Amazon, the book reseller, is now a pharmacy, grocery store and more. It’s the rise of the everything company.
