She shared how you go from re-living your past to re-telling it; no longer being emotionally connected to your past, being able to live in the now. QUOTE: With social anxiety your animal brain is going “it’s not safe, it’s not safe!” and your thinking brain is trying to go “yes it is, it’s ok” , but there is no trust and the two are going in opposite directions. And your animal brain always wins because it’s mission is your protection and your pleasure. It wants to protect you and keep you safe. It doesn’t trust the thinking mind cause the thinking mind is slow. If you were in real danger you need your animal instincts to keep you safe. In real danger you don’t have time to think. When there is any sense of danger the animal brain does not trust the thinking brain. EFT is therapy for your inner animal brain. Overcoming social anxiety is not about your thinking brain, it’s not what you think. It’s about your physical animal you, and helping that to feel safe.
