The final talk is a summary and overview of the series. In an overarching manner, a variety of the essential issues related to the Qur’anic manual for living have been covered. One of the central directives of the series has been to present the means of imbibing and living the Qur’anic manual and the essential message of the Qur’an. The concluding talk covers three issues: the purpose of existence and creation; the meaning of death and the hereafter; and resurrection. Shaykh Fadhlalla begins by presenting a wide array of key verses relating to various dimensions of creation, the cosmic picture of the universe, the building blocks of life on earth, and the vast web of connections between cosmic and finite existences. The Qur’anic cosmology of reality is central to this talk. The interplay between actions, qualities, dualities and the all-encompassing cosmic essence contours all the key themes of this presentation with various reflections on the nature of time and non-time and the rise of human consciousness. The role of the human being in the panorama of life and existence is discussed. Various traditions, teachings and practices which can help adjust our attitudes, refine our awareness and focus in order moving along the map of existence are shared. This life is a bridge into the next zone of experience. Ultimately the purpose of human life is coming to know, adore and love the qualities, designs and presence of the timeless essence. To free oneself from oneself and live the way of perfected trust, total accountability, and unified action whilst constantly calibrating with Divine Consciousness.
