Chapter six continues the thread of interplay of the two zones of consciousness. The pivot theme of this segment is relatedness and relationships at various levels. The evolutionary movement in human life and the development of drives and faculties is utilized to present the model of rising consciousness. Questions relevant to behavior, partnership, family unit and ultimate relatedness to the God Consciousness are used to model the interplay between key relationships: The absolute and the relative; responsibility, duty and the drive towards existential endeavor and fulfillment with the dynamics of inner well beingness. The key element in this presentation is the totality of reality. All interactions are sustained and governed by supreme consciousness. Shaykh Fadhlalla emphasizes the necessity and purpose of life is to be in constant reference to the higher and therefore engendering a healthy balance between the inner and outer worlds. Various threads relevant to Sufism and the Original Din are introduced in weaving together this exposition.
