The second episode of the recorded interview series with Shaykh Fadhlalla. In this segment, issues relevant to the fundamental driving forces and motivations are further evlaborated. Exploring with greater detail the questions of ‘Who am I,’ ‘Who is Allah,’ ‘What is death’. ‘What is the desire to go beyond limitations?’ A broad map of reality is overviewed with a special focus on the micro reality of the human being as the reflection of the macro reality of the cosmos. The theme of Human cosmology and make up is introduced both regarding bio-evolutionary mapping and a psycho-social development arc of an evolving self at various stages. The theme of an evolution in consciousness is discussed and explored and the dual cosmology of man is elaborated in tandem with Islamic disclosures as to what is the nature of truth; where is the truth? and man’s relationship to his essence. Various scientific discoveries and the role these play in the evolution of human consciousness and understanding of the laws of nature and the universe are also reviewed.
