Self-Care While Homeschooling and More with Emily Nichols

Self-Care for Extremely Busy Women - Ein Podcast von Suzanne Falter

First I begin this show by reading an essay I wrote called ‘How I Stopped Being a Wounded Decision Maker’. Because if there’s one thing that brings us down, drains our energy and makes self-care REALLY hard, it’s making rash decisions that don’t serve us well. My guest this week is Emily Nichols who has worked with Whole30 nutrition, and made her way to become a podcaster on the subject of self-care. As she’s my sister in self-care, we had a lot to talk about! From our conversation, I learned all of this: Emily’s journey with self-care Why we feel so guilty about it What true self-care actually looks like Her own ‘sacred self-care’ routine How she approaches fitness so it really works for your Why she takes ice cold showers (!) Emily’s ideal fitness routine How to fit in self-care when homeschooling … and much more, as ever. Hope you find this the boost you need to carry on with your own self-care! Since 2015, I had been on my own personal health journey starting with Whole30 and watching the ripple effect happen in so many other areas of my life. I went from an always exhausted, unhealthy (mindset and body), working mom and wife to a women who knew her own SELF CARE had to be the first priority. I started focusing on own daily self-care routine to fill my own cup. And guess what? I didn’t feel guilty about that at all because I was a better wife, mom and coach because of it. I knew I could help other women who felt the same way as I did and knew I wanted to provide free resources to help others find their own version of SELF CARE and that, my friends, is when The Self Care Isn’t Selfish Podcast was born!
