Over time, the concept of “smart cities” evolved. Formerly mostly considering technology as tool for local development, the concept is progressively focussing on service improvements and the role of “smart citizens”. The European Lab has invited two European cities to present their strategy for a smart city and discuss the obstacles, failures, successes and new perspectives they faced
