In this episode we chat with Sapna Mahajan Director, Prevention and Promotion Initiatives, Mental Health Commission of Canada and member of the international working group for ISO 45003 – the draft global standard for psychological health and safety at work. Sapna has been working with the Mental Health Commission since 2013 when the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (the Standard) was published. The Standard is now the most widely used Standard in Canada with more than 65,000 downloads globally. Sapna gives us some great insights into the development of this Standard, it’s core concepts, it’s adoption and the growing evidence for the efficacy of systemic approaches to workplace mental health which the Standard provides guidance on. We also discuss with Sapna how the new draft global standard for psychological health and safety at work (ISO 45003) is progressing, Canada’s input into this, and her hopes for the impact it will drive in the future for employee mental health.
