Gavin Sherman is an experienced property developer and the co-founder of Linea Homes.   After qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor he began to cut his teeth in the industry working for a property investment/development agency. Over the years he worked his way up to director level and in pub sales alone, they managed to sell 700 pubs for a combined value of 250 million pounds.   After a decade of working with developer clients and selling deals, Gavin decided to become the client himself, go out on his own and focus his attention on developing houses in North West London, resulting in the creation of Linea Homes back in 2011. Since then, Linea Homes have worked on various types of deals from buying and selling pubs to mixed-use shops and flats, warehouses, commercial offices, residential planning gain, just to name but a few.   In this episode, Gavin shares how his property journey evolved from starting in the hustling trading environment at a successful development agency. He shares how he struggled with "sales" and "selling", but had a knack for detail and straight-talking to build good relationships with clients.   In the background, Gavin had a parallel development journey of "house hacking" with his wife and family. By picking up property deals where he could move in, restructure them and add value to scale to bigger and better homes to live in. (Over the years Gavin and his family have moved 14 times using this model).   Lasting we discuss the development process, planning, the challenges for SME Developers and why he has changed his development approach more recently.   Enjoy!   ***************   GET IN CONTACT.   Email- [email protected]   Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/raj-chengadu-11381b69/   Follow Guest:   Website: https://www.lineahomes.co.uk/   Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gavinshermanlineahomes/
