6. Tinu Cornish on Her Experiences of Racism at School

Tinu talks about her experiences of growing up and experiencing racism at school. At the time, racism was institutionalised and virtually ever-present in Tinu’s school life. However, there was one place where Tinu felt safe and there was one special teacher whom she had always remembered fondly. It wasn’t until she returned to her old school for a final reunion that she realised how her special teacher had actually let her down. “It’s the moment where everything you thought you knew about something completely changes. They say when you're dying that your life flashes in front of your eyes. It's that sort of experience in reverse where basically you sort of unwind a whole history, a whole narrative.”*********************Check out the Stories Of Men website for more on this storyWe're also on Facebook, Twitter and InstagramA Fascinate Production
