Kristen Vengler is a single empty-nester and former veteran middle school teacher whose life was turned upside down after being “canceled” from a job she loved. Desperate to regain control of her spiritual, mental and physical health, she entered recovery for alcohol and trauma in her hometown of San Diego where she relocated in January, 2020.   Less than a year later she had that moment in the shower we all dread.
