The Week Ahead – 18 March 2022

In this episode of our Week Ahead series, we’ll be looking at the main themes that will drive global markets over the coming week. In the US, we’ll be tracking Fed speakers with seven participants forecasting at least one 50bp rate hike this year. In Europe we’ll be watching out for ceasefire talks, the potential for a Russia dollar bond default, the UK’s spring statement, CPI and a host of growth surveys. In Japan there is a risk we may hear more from officials on currency weakness, whilst we track the potential for more supply from OPEC, Global COVID-19 trends the potential for an LPR cut from China and the BSP meeting ahead.
