News From Where We Are #2

Welcome to Furtherfield's 2nd Community podcast - a cultural discussion grounded in news from where we are. When the lockdown hit the UK a few weeks ago due to the Covid-19 virus, we asked contributors and lurkers on Furtherfield's Netbehavour email discussion list how they were doing? We received reports from every continent and this inspired us to create this podcast. Now, others have been in touch, sharing with us their stories, reflections and contexts. This podcast is a conversation with many voices from the ground to explore how the collaborative-imaginative fieldwork of artists, techies and activists is informing how we organise, imagine and build solidarity, good health and post-capitalist realities. Working together and supporting others to do the same. This episode features an excerpt from an interview with artist Gretta Louw*, and accounts from life with the Covid-19 virus, performances and readings by Annie Abrahams, Paul Hertz, Azure Carter, Daniel Pinheiro, Jennifer Seaman Cook, and Eryk Salvaggio. Sounds noise and music from: Antye Greie (aka AGF or Poemproducer), Stuart Bowditch, Anne Clark & Martyn Bates, Song Birds (Simon Mclennan), OTM (Ouch Those Monkeys). Together we explore how people want to live in our globally-connected world now. https://www.furtherfield.org/news-from-where-we-are-the-furtherfield-podcast/ Contributors' Links Annie Abrahams https://www.bram.org/ Stuart Bowditch http://www.stuartbowditch.co.uk Azure Carter https://azurecarter.weebly.com Anne Clark, Martyn Bates https://anneclarkofficial.bandcamp.com/album/just-after-sunset Mac Dunlop https://macdunlop.bandcamp.com Antye Greie (aka AGF or Poemproducer) http://antyegreie.com Paul Hertz http://paulhertz.net Gretta Louw http://www.grettalouw.com/ Daniel Pinheiro https://daniel-pinheiro.tumblr.com Eryk Salvaggio https://www.cyberneticforests.com Song Birds (Simon Mclennan) https://solidbirdsflying.blogspot.com Jennifer Seaman Cook https://twitter.com/Histouroborus https://www.furtherfield.org https://lists.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour Image by Gretta Louw. Om Podcasten

A podcast of interviews, reviews, readings, announcements hosted by Marc Garrett. Furtherfield is London’s longest running (de)centre for art and technology. We are a community who develop collaborative-imaginative fieldwork together + enable others to do the same. Down with the exclusive commercial art world + big tech companies that control + kill our cultures. We are about openness + outreach. We value: polyphony, politics + play; misfits + mayhem; inquisitive + imaginative kind. We want disruption, democracy, decentralisation, distribution + diversity across art + technology now!
