When Should You Add A Note To A Connection Request On LinkedIn?

I am a big believer in connecting and messaging as genuinely and authentically as possible. I never accept a connection request that has a note that... 1. Pitches and sells me in the note 2. Mentions "I'd like to add you to my professional network" 3.
