Monday Mile with Aimee Fuller - Ein Podcast von Monday Mile - By Aimee Fuller - Montags
This week on the Monday Mile Podcast, we took a little train trip up to the North West. Today’s guest is an MMA Fighter, and on the exterior, well certainly in the octagon, she’s tough, feisty and an absolute machine. She made her UFC debut in 2018, and along with her best mate Paddy Pimblett she is tearing up the sport and putting the UK on the global stage. I'm in her home City of Liverpool and we get to meet the beautiful human behind that fighter's mask - it’s Molly McCann also known as, "Meatball Molly". Molly takes us on a little tour of her home City, stopping off at some iconic sights around the City including the top of the BROW. The location where every great boxer has done sprints. We chat about her extremely passionate in -ring approach, the split sided personality, and her sensitive nature. From the Spinning Elbow, to the Rock calling out her success on Tik Tok, and re-naming the people’s elbow “The Meat-Bow”. Molly is only on the up. She’s humble and a role model to the next generation. She stopped to say hello to every passer-by that acknowledged her on our walk. She’s a people’s champion and is making a big impact in her home of Liverpool. We chat about how she is using her platform built purely from her success in MMA, to invest money into the next generation with her Weapons Down Gloves Up Campaign. We also chat about sexuality and how and why there’s still a cloud around “coming out”. We chat about the term gay, and how it can be used as a derogatory term, that alone the effect that can have on someone. Molly also shares her experience with homophobia and the challenges that she has overcome to be one of the Greats. Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. How do elite athletes find the motivation to kick start their week come rain or shine? How do celebrities deliver no matter what the time of day? What knowledge can they pass on? Each episode drops on a Monday morning as a bitesize piece of content and weekly dose of motivation - right when you need it. Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week. Sharing some of Britain's greatest athletes, entrepreneurs, doctors, authors and broadcasters ’ secrets on self-motivation, candid thoughts on what they struggle with and a sideways look at some of their more unusual morning habits.
