Her focus is to improve and protect the physical and financial health of Texans. As an industry executive, she's committed to lowering health care costs, improving access and investing in value-based care. Shara uses her platform to inspire women and young professionals to become leaders in their organizations. She is the chairperson of the company's business resource group Women Improving the Strength of the Enterprise (WISE) where she oversees initiatives to promote career, community, commerce and culture across Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. She also serves on the board of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Dallas, and Children at Risk North Texas. Shara graduated from the Dallas Regional Chamber's Leadership Dallas program in 2017 and is a senior fellow of Houston's American Leadership Forum. Shara is a proud Aggie and holds a bachelor's degree in business analysis from Mays Business School. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, playing golf, and traveling.
