Despite Some Controversy in Game 2 , The Panthers Return Home With A Split

Locked On Panthers - Daily Podcast On The Florida Panthers - Ein Podcast von Locked On Podcast Network, Armando Velez

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down the Panthers' 2-1 loss against the New York Rangers from Madison Square Garden. This was the Panthers' first loss in OT in the postseason since 2016. The Rangers came out with a big jump to start the game, which included a goal after a hit by Alexis Lafreniere on Verhaeghe which resulted in Vincent Trocheck converting off the turnover. Florida however weathered multiple storms as they doubled the amount of times they went to the box in game two, but still came of this one without giving up a goal on the power kill. New York had very little answers for Aleksander Barkov once again, and Gustav Forsling was a force on the penalty kill, especially when the Rangers were on a 4-on-3. Florida got their first power play goal since Game 4 of the previous series, breaking an 0-13 drought. Despite that, they have killed 24 of their last 25, so they have been able to keep the Rangers top performers in check. New York came away with the win 14:01 into the first overtime period when the Barclay Goodrow knocked the stick out of the air, played give-and-go with Vincent Trocheck before the return feed found Goodrow and beat Sergei Bobrovsky past his blocker to give the Rangers the 2-1 win, and the series now being tied at one. We discuss the missed opportunities for the Panthers on the night, but also how encouraging is it for the Cats to come back home to Sunrise all tied up at one.
