The Art of Conversation: Conversation topics with Arty Anglais: Talking about plans - My plans for Australia

The Art of Conversation is a series of short 5-10 minutes episodes where I answer conversation topics from the Conversation Starters World website: I use this very often in my 1:1 English conversation classes with my students. This is to help give you some ideas about how a native speaker might answer questions. Each week I'll try to include in my natural speech different examples of grammar points, expressions and idioms.  In this episode, I'll answer one question to give you some expressions and ideas to do with describing your plans. I'm going to answer the question: What are your plans when you go to Australia? Expressions to describe your plans:I'm looking forward to I hope to I might I'm thinking about I can't wait to I'm determined to Some expressions I used in this episode: Up in the air: things are still to be settled and are unresolved.take a raincheck: when you want to say you cannot accept the invitation now, but you will do it at a later time making loose plans: I have some idea of what I am doing but nothing is certain nothing is set in stone/set in concrete: I haven't made any plans that are certainplay it by ear: take things as they come and be more spontaneous and live in the moment
