Joost Strydom is the spokesman for Orania. Orania is a fast-growing semi-autonomous Afrikaner town in the middle of South Africa. Joost joined me on my podcast to discuss why and when the town came into existence; the town’s traditional Christian values and conservative politics; who is welcome to live there (and why such exclusivity is not racist); the importance of preserving culture and heritage; why communities matter; and what the long-term expansion of the town looks like.
