Today, he will be interviewing Michele Bernetti More about today’s guest Michele Bernetti represents the third generation of the Bianchi-Bernetti family, owner of Umani Ronchi, historical winery in Marche and Abruzzo regions. Born in Ancona in 1966 – where he still lives with his wife and children- Michele raised with a strong passion for wine, inherited from his family. He is a tireless traveller and the current CEO of Umani Ronchi.   The story began with Gino Umani Ronchi, in the heart of Verdicchio Classico, in 1957. Since 1968 the Umani Ronchi estate is owned by the Bianchi-Bernetti family, with more than 170 ha across the Castelli di Jesi and Conero districts in Le Marche and 40 ha in Abruzzo. Verdicchio, Montepulciano and Pecorino are the most important varieties, cultivated following the latest organic farming techniques. Umani Ronchi is a member of the Istituto del Vino di Qualità “Grandi Marchi,” along with 17 other prominent Italian wine families, including Antinori, Tenuta San Guido, Masi, Jermann, and Ca 'del Bosco, to name a few.  Umani Ronchi was ranked among the 34 best wineries in Italy by Wine Spectator in 2020 and recently received the special award as Winery of the Year 2024 by Gambero Rosso. Born in Mexico, with a mother from Hawaii via Korea and an anthropologist father from New York via Paris, he was weaned on exotic and delicious foods. Marc and his photographer wife Kim are the authors of 14 books including a pioneering series of illustrated wine-food-travel books: The Wine Roads of Europe, The Wine Roads of France, The Wine Roads of Italy (Premio Barbi Colombini), and The Wine Roads of Spain.
