Lord Mayor of London William Russell - Tradition & Modernisation Now the 692nd Lord Mayor, began as an Investment Banker in Merrill Lynch (equity sales). There Jack Gibbs inspired him in a laid back way & the late John Owen. Cajoling rather the forcing people in the way you lead them.Father died when William was 1 & Mother was an inspiration as he grew up - values focus on giving back. In one year his mother raised £365k for charity. Nice mix of history & technology- 5 of his family have been Lord Mayors. Educated at Eton college - now champions FinTech & UK FS globally.Sometimes stressed & competitive but William never looses his temper.Learning from mistake - admitted he made many & some investment mistakes.His wife Hillary met him at Durham university & she is a wise advisor and council to him.
