How Meditation Can Make You a Better Runner | Rebecca Doring

Rebecca Doring is a 33 year old married runner who lives in northwest Connecticut about a mile away from the Appalachian Trail. She started her mindfulness practice in 2012 and since then has become a Certified Yoga Instructor, a Certified Meditation Teacher and a Personal Development Coach. She is also a podcaster, producing the Deep Rooted Bliss Podcast.  Rebecca describes herself as someone who has always been drawn to running, but also as someone who felt she was terrible at it and didn’t believe she was a runner for a very long time. Rebecca rediscovered running during the pandemic and just when she finally began to identify as a runner, she got COVID. In this episode we talk about what it was that shifted her belief system and identity as a runner, how she mindfully returned to running post-COVID, and some meditation tools that she suggests all runners use to enhance their running experience.  Rebecca even gives us the special treat of a short guided meditation for runners towards the end of the show (starting at the 44:37 mark). Listeners will appreciate how clearly articulate and focused Rebecca is, as well as all the practical tips she offers runners to improve their running through meditation.
