A fair discussion about the phenomenon of the far-right in Ukraine is still very difficult today. Since one of the official goals of Russia's invasion of Ukraine was to “denazify” the country, Western countries have decided to keep the topic quiet. Even in spite of many earlier alarming publications that indicated that the problem is serious and dangerous not only for Ukraine itself, but also for the rest of the region. That is why we decided to talk to someone who is well acquainted with Ukrainian realities and who studies far-right and fascist movements on a daily basis. Solidarity with Ukrainians does not have to mean condoning the spread of ideologies whose only legacy in Europe was a bloody war and mass crimes.Dr. Marta Havryshko holds a PhD in History from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). Her research interests are primarily focused on sexual violence during World War II and the Holocaust, women's history, feminism, and nationalism.
