He graduated with a bachelor's degree in art and a master's degree in design and technology. Lieberman experiments with new ways of artistic expression and creates artwork through writing and programming software. He is co-creator of openFrameworks, an open source C++ toolkit for creative coding and co-founder of the School for Poetic Computation, a hybrid of a school, residency and research group exploring the lyrical possibilities and essence of code as a creative medium. Currently, Zach Lieberman also teaches the Future Sketches class as an Adjunct Professor at the MIT Media Lab.
